Personal Experience
Mike Emerson is a solicitor with extensive experience in Family Law. He holds degrees in Arts and Law, including a Master of Laws (Dispute Management) and is an accredited specialist in Family Law and Principal of Emerson Black Lawyers, a specialist Brisbane family law firm.
Mike is a Queensland Law Society approved mediator and arbitrator, member of the panel of Children's Representatives for Queensland and member of the panel of Conciliators for the Federal Magistrates Court through Relationships Australia. He is also a joint proprietor of Brisbane Mediations with psychologist Denise Britton.
With a background in general practice extending over many years, Mike has practised exclusively in family law for the past ten (10) years and enjoys a broad reputation for resolving family law disputes.
Mike is an Associate Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management and a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and currently serves as a Director of the Royal Blind Foundation. He has a wide background in community affairs.
